I know this isn't about Leonardo, but it is about art, so I figured this was the best forum for it, sorry if I'm wrong about its placement.

In Dan Brown's list of the heads of the Priory of Sion he claims that Botticelli was a Grand Master from 1483 until his death in 1510. This doesn't take into account that in the 1490s Botticelli became a follower of Savonarola, and burnt two of his paintings in the Bonfire of the Vanities because of their pagan subject matter. It doesn't seem...

If anyone is still unsure about the validity of this novel, I may be able to shed some light on the subject. I read this book and was riveted the entire time. However, after completing the novel, I was slightly disturbed about that the "facts" that were presented throughout the course of the novel. I looked into some of the things and found a great lecture online by one of the worlds leading debaters, Dr. Gary Habermas. He apparently delivered a sermon in which he systematically...

But isn't John the Baptist (who was dead at the time of the last supper) a whole different person than John the apostle?

- Could you explain to me what Jesus is doing with John in the versions of the...

In the DVC Brown has Teabing draw Sophie's attention to a supposedly 'disembodied hand' in the Last Supper. He claims that this is a reference to the Church's hostility to Mary Magdalene and the threat she and the 'Divine Feminine' pose to its power.

The hand is actually not 'disembodied' at all. It belongs to Peter, who is directly to John's right (or 'Mary' if you believe Brown's claims).
